Shoe Porn: Purple Passion

It's been a looooong time since I've done a shoe porn post! But due to recurring events, I felt it was needed.

Over the past two years or so, I've fallen in love with many pairs of purple pumps, boots, sandals, etc. Purple has become my favorite color for the time being (purple and blue always fight it out in my mind, while pink sits back comfortably in 3rd place) so I want to get shoes that reflect my passion for purple. Unfortunately I've only managed to buy ONE pair of purple shoes... which I don't get to wear often, since they are too big. (Side note: what the heck is up with Jessica Simpson? I had to give away my size 10 because I literally lost the feeling in my foot, they were so tight. Then I got these purple shoes in an 11 and they slip off my feet!) So anyway, this post is an ode to the shoes I've lusted after but never could make my own.

This is the shoe that started it all: Nine West Hamptonesk. 2008. Lawd, y'all don't understand how bad I wanted these shoes! I was calling all over to see if any stores had them... The few that had the style didn't have the purple. Then I finally call ninewest.com customer service and the lady tried to tell me they didn't come in purple! What the deuce?! I know what I saw lady! I saw love... in shoe form.... *le sigh*

 

This year's obsession: Vince Camuto Amber. It was lust at first sight once again when I spotted these in Dillard's a few weeks ago. I wanted to snatch them up then and there, but I was trying to be frugal and the price tag wasn't working for me. Then I got wonderful news: the price was marked down to $80! I ran to Dillard's as fast as I could. They did not have the purple in my size. I decided I could settle for the blue, since they had that in a 10, but I'd need to try it on first just to be sure. It did not fit. -_- So I figure, no biggie, I'll just order an 11, and since I'm ordering, I can get the purple! Um, no. This style was not available in an 11. Woe is me!

To ease my pain, I went to Zappos.com and searched for purple shoes. I was determined! I found something that would do the trick: these Gabriella Rocha shoes (style: Arria). These were great! Flashy, attention grabbing... so me. But wouldn't you know it, this color doesn't come in a 10.

 

And then there were these. Alexander McQueen heart toe pumps. $725.00. Enough said.

I found a new shoe from my first love, BCBG, that made me drool. It's such a simple shoe, but I'm absolutely ga-ga over it! BCBG Altero. I guess it appeals to the side of me that wants something basic but still has a bit of the wow factor. Nevermind that the shoe is made almost identical to the royal blue Kostys that I currently own. These will be mine before the end of the month!

 

Since we are quickly approaching Christmas, I guess I will share my fav holiday song with you...

Anyway, I've decided there should be some kinda composite character to represent my mood... A cross between Scrooge & The Grinch... The Scrinch? Grooge? No, Grooge sounds like something icky... The Scrinch it is... Now if only I could figure out Photoshop (don't judge me!)

Shoe Porn: Christian Louboutin

I'm not a label-whore, but every now and then I get stuck on a particular brand or shoe. Some may call it "obsession" but I consider it simply admiring the work of the creator. When I get enamored with shoes that I know I can't afford (yet) I treat them much like I would a fine-ass celebrity: fawn over them, collect pictures of them looking delicious, imagine myself butt-naked in bed with them... (What, too much?)

Anyway, such is the case with the latest object of my affection: Louboutin.
I didn't even bother finding the prices for these. Nope, instead I'd just rather focus on the possibilities...

Shoe Porn: BCBG

I have a love/hate relationship with BCBG/BCBGirls. I find the cayutest BCBGs in stores, but online... well, that is definitely a hunt that usually leaves me with an empty electronic shopping cart. But I was able to find a couple pair that I would be willing to break into the piggy bank for (if my bank wasn't already busted to pieces...)

by a pair of knockoffs! *cues dramatic music and the blood-curdling scream*

To be honest, I am not sure if these shoes are a knockoff or authentic Christian Louboutin. I have seen this shoe before in black, and I am certain that those are indeed Louboutin.
However, the blue ones? Never ever seen before. I want to believe they are real... God, I wanna believe! I mean, they're freakin' blue & white, so of course I need them in my life! But something about these still don't seem right. Maybe it's because they are from a site I've never heard of and the fact that they are selling it for only $224 (Hiebay.com is getting the serious side-eye from me right now). And there is the fact that I've never seen this particular shoe in any color but black. And the more I look at that bow from the back, the more I'm convinced that someone may have just painted the bottom and tacked a ribbon onto the back of a regular old shoe...

Stop perping, people. For the love of Louboutins, don't do it!

I'm off to find some verified designer shoes to fawn over.

Tori D. Edit: after seeing the back of the real Louboutin and looking a bit more closely at the top pic to see the not-so-great MS Paint job that was done on the sole of the shoe, I feel like a fool -_- But at least I'm not a fool who bought Loubooties.

Shoe Porn Pt. II: Kitten Heels

Yes, you read that correctly: kitten heels.

So here is the deal. I'm a pretty tall girl (or at least I consider myself kinda tall even though I'm just 5'7"). Boofriend, however, is not the 6'2" tall drink of water that I imagined I'd be with. Since I don't want to tower over him the way I do in my usual 3.5-5" heels, but can't deal with flats, kitten heels are the next best thing.

Now I know some of you are like, "Kitten heels? No ma'am!" But I've found some very cayute little kitten heels to make you reconsider. Once again, my taste has gotten the best of me. Champagne taste + box wine budget (a step above beer) = an unhappy Tori D. But that's okay! For now I will have to be content with just looking...

When I see these shoes, I think: PARTY. Seriously, New Year's Eve, got ya little slinky silver dress on, a pair of statement earrings, and these gawgeous little things. Simple can say so much sometimes!

I picture these as the "serious business" shoe. These, a black suit with a pencil skirt and a colorful button-down. Oh yes, when I grow up, these shoes will be a part of my arsenal.

These were my favorite pair out of all that I've seen so far. I was so heartbroken when I saw the price and couldn't find not ONE discount anywhere! I had my heart set on these, but my pocket is not cooperating. Oh well... One day my pretties!

I don't have words to tell how much I love these! I'm already a boot fanatic (even though I rarely get to wear them here in Mississippi). When I do get to don a nice pair, they usually have an incredibly high heel. That's fine for when I'll be sitting the majority of the time. However, do a little walking and I'm ready to run out of them. These are what's missing from my life! (Or at least, my wardrobe) Seeing these ensures that I will have a second job to feed my shoe habit.

They give me a ballet vibe.

Okay, seriously, how could you not find this cute? This is seriously throwback to the little Mary Janes worn in elementary school. But it's the little twists that make shoes like this a must-have for me: the unique angles of the cut, the diagonal strap, the squat round heel. Though not my idea of "sexy" they definitely have an edge to them that only a sexy someone like myself could pull off. (Unfortunately, the curse of Bigfoot strikes again... Where is that saw?!)

LOL But for real, every time I look for something else I see another pair of Irregular Choice that makes me gasp a little more than the pair before. And although they seem to shun women with a little more to love down there *takes a look at my long, somewhat flat feet* I still think they're freakin awesome. And oh yes, you will be seeing more of them soon.

 

"A Mile in My Shoes..." Guidelines & Suggestions

Check here if you have no idea what I'm talking about

I know it’s been a few weeks since I first presented the idea for my book, but I have not forgotten it and hopefully neither have you! Thank you to everyone who called, texted, or FaceBooked your ideas. You all have been a big help! I wanted to provide some suggestions for submissions as well as a few basic guidelines that I ask you to follow. First, the guidelines:

1. No copyrighted pictures, please (because I do not have any money for someone to try to sue me!)
2. If you submit a quote that is not original (meaning, you didn’t come up with it yourself) please advise who the quote is from so that we can give them proper credit
3. I don’t really “do” censorship, but you know when something crosses the line. So nothing too inappropriate, por favor.

Seriously, that’s it for the guidelines.

If you already have an idea for what you want to submit, great! I would love to have whatever you want to contribute. However, if you want to contribute but really don’t know what to do/send, here are a few suggestions for you:

1. Shoes that have meaning to you— The shoes you wore on your wedding day? The pair you wore when you shot the winning basket? Your baby’s first shoes? Send pix and tell me about them.
2. The shoes you could buy if money was no object—Which ones and why?
3. Love at first sight—Seeing that “it” pair for the first time
4. Too cute to wear—Those shoes that are gorgeous to look at but a PAIN to wear!
5. If you could only have one pair of shoes for the rest of your life… (pretty self explanatory, I think)
6. Back in the day—Does your mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, etc. have some shoes from way back when? Or have you spotted some elsewhere that you want to share?

Again, these are just suggestions. If you have something else in mind, or only want to contribute pictures or quotes, they are welcome! Also, maybe shoes aren’t your thing but you know someone like me who loves them; please ask for their participation. As I stated before, I am looking for diversity in my participants to get a broad spectrum of submissions.

I have a confession, and now is as good of a time to tell you as any.

I have an addiction.

An obsession.

A fetish.

I ADORE SHOES!! If I didn't have bills my entire check would go to nothing but fabulous shoes. There is nothing like slipping your foot into a killer pair of stilettos and sticking your leg out like, "Dayum right I'm sexy!" I may not find the clothes I love in my size, but I can (almost) always find a bad pair of pumps for my lovely size 10 feet. Of course, I have to grab them when they first come out (or order online) since stores seem to think they only have 2 customers who wear that size... *finger wag @ stores who don't order enough of the larger shoe sizes!*
